Congratulations to 2000 Trees Festival on winning a Greener Festival Award
"2000 Trees is a great small festival surrounded by gorgeous countryside and the organisers work hard to keep the festival clean tidy and fun. The Maker Green Team pop up everywhere In their noble crusade to leave no recyclable uncollected and the relaxed friendly crowd seem to make the effort to tidy up after themselves which is a refreshing change. Looking around the floor it is hard to spot any litter and many revellers feel safe to wander barefoot through the site (which was a bit muddy this year!). The organisers are enthusiastic about their efforts to be an eco-friendly gathering and it is inspiring to see many stalls handed over to local suppliers and to organisations promoting environmental messages".

Next Generation recycler - Ruth, Maker Sunshine Festival 2008

The Maker Green Team is a unique UK based volunteer constituted 'not for profit' community events recycling organisation. Currently we receive zero funding from public or private trust bodies. Our operations are totally dependent on the good will and private funding from our membership & third party festival organisations.

News: August 2008

Post Sunrise Celebration the Maker Green Team facilitated all waste provision at the annual 2000 Trees Festival in Gloucestershire. This event was a complete success and was operated by 30 volunteers including core members. Real Festivals Limited (the organisers) and farmer John once again thanked us for our asolute cover and reconmended us as the UK's premier events recycling organisation by our unique methodology at sites. Five menbers of the Maker  Green Team assisted Mid Devon Community Recycling's participation at Buddafield 2008. For those involved this was a very welcoming event and our  members enjoyed working with a fresh organisation. At the end of July we facilitated our own event the Maker Sunshine Festival in Cornwall. As seems to be the pattern this summer this event was blighted by rain though this did not affect the spirits of our members. At Maker we used 'Dulav bins' (waste to energy) for the first time. Maker again was a complete success with all 50 volunteers involved. Post Maker we held a special Corum meeting and decided by a clear majority not to facilitate the Waveform Festival in Wiltshire in 2008. Instead we decided to plan & organise our own event to be held at Maker Heights towards the end of September 2008 named 'the Scumbusters Ball'.
